Pronounciation
- Propane (/ˈproʊpeɪn/)
- Butane (/ˈbjuːteɪn/)
- Isopenten /i.zɔ.pɛ̃.tan/
Natural Gas Processing
Raw natural gas typically consists primarily of methane (CH4) and ethane (C2H6) and also contains
- Heavier gaseous hydrocarbons: propane (C3H8), normal butane (n-C4H10), isobutane (i-C4H10) and pentanes.
- CO2, H2S, N2, He
NGL Fractionation
- The recovered NGL stream is processed through a fractionation train consisting of up to five distillation towers in series: a demethanizer, a deethanizer, a depropanizer, a debutanizer and a butane splitter.
- In the debutanizer column C3 (propane) and C4 (butane) are removed as overheads from the naphtha stream.
